Senior Manager, Operational Excellence and Process Engineering

Responsibilities

• Directly manage and develop a team of Laboratory Systems Scientists
• Lead implementation and optimization of laboratory systems, automation platforms, and software solutions
• Apply Lean principles and process engineering methodologies to improve efficiency and scalability
• Oversee validation, verification, and performance qualification activities for laboratory systems and workflows
• Ensure laboratory systems align with CAP, CLIA, NYSDOH, and GxP regulatory requirements
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure successful technology transfer and operational readiness
• Support development and monitoring of KPIs and operational metrics

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 8+ years of relevant laboratory experience in diagnostics or life sciences
• 4+ years of direct people management experience leading technical or operational teams
• 3+ years of experience in regulated laboratory environments (CAP, CLIA, NYSDOH, GxP, or ISO)
• Expertise in NGS or complex molecular workflows
• Proven ability to lead and document PQ, verification, and validation studies
• Strong understanding of LIMS, digital workflow tools, and laboratory informatics
