Senior Manager of Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction, oversight, and technical coaching for multiple teams of entry-level to mid-level software engineers.
• Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering and SDLC automation to improve delivery speed and quality.
• Manage team resources, budgets, and tactical operations while ensuring successful collaboration across stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate technical issues to execute the book of work and escalate risks as necessary.
• Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect within the engineering organization.
• Set measurable expectations for throughput, defect reduction, and reliability across multiple teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training in computer science or a related field.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, React, and Kubernetes.
• Proven experience leading and managing teams of technologists.
• Strong proficiency in CI/CD, agile methodologies, and the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Practical experience with cloud-native technologies and application resiliency.
• Experience leading the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and defining governance for their use.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Java and Oracle databases.
• Knowledge of messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ (RMQ).
• Proficiency in JavaScript and ReactJS.
• Functional domain knowledge in FX or Derivatives Settlements.
