Senior Manager of Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction, oversight, and coaching for multiple teams of entry-level to mid-level software engineers.
• Drive operational efficiency by scaling operating practices for AI-assisted engineering and SDLC automation.
• Manage team resources, budgets, and tactical operations to ensure successful execution of the book of work.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks while ensuring security, resiliency, and reuse of proven patterns.
• Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect while actively participating in hiring and talent development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience with formal training in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
• 2+ years of experience in technical leadership, managing technologists to solve complex technical challenges.
• Proficiency in Java 8+, Spring Boot, Kafka, Multi-threading, and RESTful HTTP.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle/MySQL and messaging systems like Active MQ.
• Practical cloud-native experience using AWS or Private Cloud, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to lead the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and implement governance/quality gates.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working directly at the code level.
• Domain knowledge in Banking Payments.
