Senior Manager of Software Engineering - Data Engineering Lead

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of software engineers working on complex data tasks.
• Partner with Product and Business stakeholders to gather requirements and design target state architectures and dataflows.
• Design, implement, and transform ETL logic using AWS and Databricks platforms.
• Innovate new methods for managing, transforming, and validating large-scale data sets.
• Set and scale operating practices for AI-assisted engineering and SDLC automation to improve delivery speed and quality.
• Analyze and code business-related solutions and core architectural changes using Agile methodologies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience and 2+ years of technical leadership experience.
• Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
• Hands-on experience with Big Data technologies such as AWS, Spark, Kafka, and Databricks.
• Proficiency in Java and Python programming.
• Expertise in writing efficient SQL and implementing complex ETL transformations.
• Strong UNIX shell scripting skills for automation and familiarity with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
• Proven ability to solve complex analytical problems and communicate technical issues to management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in Agile development teams using Object-Oriented principles.
• Background in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI.
• Experience within Financial Services or Commercial Banking.
• Familiarity with NoSQL platforms such as MongoDB or AWS Open Search.
• Extensive experience with Python (3+ years) and Java development (2+ years).
