Senior Manager, Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical engineering roadmap, balancing NPI speed with sustaining engineering stability
• Lead, hire, and develop a multi-disciplinary mechanical engineering team
• Oversee design for manufacturability, reliability, cost, and field serviceability (DfX)
• Direct product transition from prototype to mass production
• Validate hardware performance through simulation and physical testing for extreme environments
• Analyze field failure data to drive iterative design improvements
• Manage relationships with fabricators and component suppliers

Requirements

• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience
• 3+ years in a formal people-management or lead role
• Proven success taking complex hardware from concept to high-volume production
• Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD (Creo preferred)
• Strong grasp of FEA, thermal analysis, and electronics
• Experience with ruggedized design (electric-mechanical, thermal, optical, and power)
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes like sheet metal, injection molding, and CNC
• B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
