About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of Mainframe infrastructure in Colo datacenters.
  • Drive platform modernization, optimization, and innovation through Ansible, AI-enabled, and DevOps practices.
  • Oversee Mainframe services delivery and manage both internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure SLA compliance.
  • Manage large-scale infrastructure projects, including software installations, upgrades, and patching for IBM and Broadcom products.
  • Act as a point of escalation for critical issues and ensure governance aligns with regulatory and business standards.
  • Manage departmental budgets, including capital and operational expenses related to server, storage, and backup initiatives.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience managing Mainframe Infrastructure (z16, DS8000, TS7770 hardware, SAN Fabric).
  • Deep technical expertise in z/OS, DFSMS, GDPS, CA1, ACF2, DB2/IMS, and MQ Series.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience with a proven track record of leading technical teams and executing strategic roadmaps.
  • Extensive experience with Broadcom, IBM, and other ISV software products.
  • Strong proficiency in ITSM practices, including incident, problem, and change management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Mainframe modernization assessments and cloud migration (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of ITIL methodologies and Agile practices.
  • Proven success in driving cost optimization initiatives, such as MIPS reductions and software rationalization.
  • Experience managing geographically dispersed teams and global vendor partnerships.
