Senior Manager, Infrastructure Platform Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead the team responsible for platform services that abstract underlying infrastructure into reliable, allocatable capacity
• Set the technical roadmap across capacity and utilization intelligence, resource lifecycle, and platform security
• Drive the design of secure, well-instrumented platform systems including Kubernetes-based orchestration
• Hire, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of infrastructure software engineers
• Partner with infrastructure, production engineering, and security teams to align platform capabilities
• Improve platform efficiency and availability by characterizing bottlenecks and reducing stranded resources
• Establish engineering standards for code quality, testing, deployment safety, and on-call practices
• Stay technically hands-on by reviewing designs and contributing to architecture decisions

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure or systems software development
• 3+ years in an engineering leadership role
• Deep expertise in large-scale infrastructure platforms and resource pooling
• Strong background with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Experience with distributed state management and control systems
• Experience with efficiency, capacity, or performance engineering
• Proven track record of hiring and growing strong infrastructure engineers
• Ability to operate in fast-moving, ambiguous environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating Kubernetes on bare-metal infrastructure
• Familiarity with GPU clusters, AI training, and inference workloads
• Knowledge of platform security concepts like secure boot, TPMs, and hardware attestation
• Experience with capacity forecasting and demand modeling
• Hands-on background with telemetry and observability platforms (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana)
• Experience building infrastructure platforms at hyperscalers or cloud providers
• Familiarity with hardware-software co-design
