Senior Manager, Indirect Tax - Sales & Use Tax

Responsibilities

• Provide expert client service to multi-state companies regarding sales and use tax issues, including reverse audits, compliance, tax planning, and automation technology
• Partner with clients to analyze state tax impacts related to business restructuring projects and intercompany transactions
• Manage state and local tax (SALT) controversies, including preparing clients for auditor discussions, representing clients at hearings, and preparing protests
• Supervise, mentor, and develop staff members within the practice
• Participate in business development and the management of SALT service delivery

Requirements

• Minimum of eight years of recent experience providing tax research and technical advice on multi-state issues
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Professional designation such as CPA, EA, JD/LLM, MST (Master's in Taxation), or CMI (Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation)
• Strong knowledge of the development, planning, and execution of sales and transactions tax refund claims
• Experience understanding various corporate taxes and their impact on sales tax
