About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, execution, and advancement of emergency preparedness and response capabilities across U.S. Disney properties.
- Provide strategic oversight to ensure all U.S. properties maintain mature, compliant, and operationally effective emergency response programs.
- Manage multiple Managers and program teams, setting direction and driving accountability across core program areas.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans for hazards including earthquakes, active threats, and mass casualty incidents.
- Plan, facilitate, and evaluate enterprise-level exercises, drills, and after-action reviews to drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain the readiness of the Burbank and New York Emergency Operations Centers (EOC), including systems testing and activation protocols.
- Oversee the employee emergency communications framework and mass notification systems.
- Define and analyze KPIs to measure preparedness maturity and deliver executive-level reporting to senior leadership.
- Manage the enterprise Emergency Supply Program, including inventory management and capability enhancements.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in emergency preparedness, crisis management, business continuity, security, safety, or operational risk management.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale preparedness or response programs within complex, global organizations.
- Proven leadership experience managing managers and/or high-performing program teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Business Administration, Public Safety, or a related field.
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable insights.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving risk environment with high operational rigor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting global or regionally distributed operations.
- Deep familiarity with crisis management platforms and mass notification systems.
- Experience with regulatory, audit, or compliance frameworks related to risk management.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CEM, HSEEP, CBCP, MBCP, CSP, or ASP.
- Advanced degree in emergency preparedness, crisis management, or business continuity.
