Senior Manager, Financial Partnerships, APAC (Local Payment Providers)

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the Local Payment Methods (LPMs) partnership strategy for APAC, including Greater China, Korea, and Southeast Asia.
• Own and grow strategic partner relationships, serving as the primary point of contact to ensure commercial success.
• Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and onboard new partners, managing the commercial and legal contracting process for local schemes and bank transfers.
• Conduct market and competitive analysis to maintain Airwallex's leadership in the global payments landscape.
• Manage partner relationships and resolve complex operational escalations regarding merchant onboarding, compliance, and transaction stability.
• Act as an industry thought leader by representing Airwallex at partner meetings and industry forums.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working with eWallets, BNPLs, PSPs, financial institutions, card schemes, or payment networks.
• Strong understanding of compliance and onboarding processes with regional and global LPMs.
• Proven experience working with cross-functional teams, including Product, Legal, Compliance, and Finance.
• International market experience, specifically managing cross-border relationships or working across multiple markets.
• Exceptional negotiation skills to navigate complex commercial discussions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment with ambiguity.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with stakeholders at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience working within a startup environment.
• Fluency in Mandarin.
• Direct working experience with Asian Local Payment Providers.
