About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead environmental planning and compliance for hyperscale data center and power generation projects
- Oversee pre-project environmental screening, due diligence, and risk assessments
- Develop standardized environmental frameworks and risk matrices for site selection
- Translate environmental constraints into actionable guidance for land acquisition and corporate development teams
- Establish corporate environmental programs, policies, and KPIs
- Create tools and workflows to integrate environmental requirements across project lifecycles
- Manage construction stormwater compliance, environmental audits, and tracking
- Build dashboards and documentation systems for regulatory correspondence and metrics
- Communicate environmental risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders and regulatory agencies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- 10–15+ years of experience in environmental planning, permitting, and program management
- Proven track record managing environmental compliance for large-scale industrial construction projects
- Hands-on experience with Phase I ESAs, wetland assessments, water rights, and biological screenings
- Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations (water, waste, ecological permitting)
- Demonstrated success interfacing with business development, real estate, and project finance teams
- Ability to travel 25–45% to project sites, corporate offices, and regulatory meetings
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with hyperscale data center campuses or utility-scale power generation projects
- Corporate environmental due diligence and M&A transaction support experience
- CEP, PE, or PMP certification
- Experience leading in highly matrixed, rapidly expanding organizations
