About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental planning and compliance for hyperscale data center and power generation projects
  • Oversee pre-project environmental screening, due diligence, and risk assessments
  • Develop standardized environmental frameworks and risk matrices for site selection
  • Translate environmental constraints into actionable guidance for land acquisition and corporate development teams
  • Establish corporate environmental programs, policies, and KPIs
  • Create tools and workflows to integrate environmental requirements across project lifecycles
  • Manage construction stormwater compliance, environmental audits, and tracking
  • Build dashboards and documentation systems for regulatory correspondence and metrics
  • Communicate environmental risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders and regulatory agencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field
  • 10–15+ years of experience in environmental planning, permitting, and program management
  • Proven track record managing environmental compliance for large-scale industrial construction projects
  • Hands-on experience with Phase I ESAs, wetland assessments, water rights, and biological screenings
  • Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations (water, waste, ecological permitting)
  • Demonstrated success interfacing with business development, real estate, and project finance teams
  • Ability to travel 25–45% to project sites, corporate offices, and regulatory meetings

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hyperscale data center campuses or utility-scale power generation projects
  • Corporate environmental due diligence and M&A transaction support experience
  • CEP, PE, or PMP certification
  • Experience leading in highly matrixed, rapidly expanding organizations
