Senior Manager, Engineering

Responsibilities

• Establish and evolve strategies for security, privacy, and compliance objectives
• Guide leadership in risk-based prioritization of security efforts and maintain roadmaps
• Coordinate application security initiatives including threat modeling and vulnerability mitigation
• Lead security reviews and penetration tests at design and implementation stages
• Drive reliability programs to maintain service uptime and manage error budgets
• Promote a blameless post-mortem culture and developer operational accountability
• Lead and grow a global team of SREs building high-volume, fault-tolerant backend systems
• Partner with technical leadership to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability of backend systems

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Sciences or related discipline
• 8+ years of industry experience with a track record of operational excellence
• 3+ years in a management role
• Experience managing key SLOs for cloud-based SaaS (availability, uptime, performance, security)
• Experience in multi-threaded programming and distributed systems
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming (Java, Scala, Ruby, or C++)
• Experience with high volumes of data using Kafka, Kubernetes, and Docker
• Hands-on experience with AWS or GCP
• Agile software development experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of global security regulations (GDPR, CCPA, FISMA) and standards (ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC2)
• Familiarity with OWASP projects and threat modeling methodologies
• Professional certifications such as CIPM, CISM, or CISSP
