Senior Manager, Engineering

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and grow a team of production engineers across shifts and time zones
• Partner with engineering leadership and recruiting to own the full hiring lifecycle
• Serve as an escalation point for high-severity incidents and lead postmortems
• Define, monitor, and report on SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs across production systems
• Oversee the design and maintenance of alerting and observability systems
• Identify and prioritize opportunities to automate repetitive operational work
• Collaborate with infrastructure, platform, product, and customer success teams
• Own the team's day-to-day operational rhythm including on-call rotations and sprint planning

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience managing 24/7 technical operations or SRE teams
• Strong Linux and infrastructure fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with containerization, Kubernetes, and virtualization
• Expertise in observability and monitoring (Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics)
• Familiarity with messaging systems like RabbitMQ, Kafka, NATS, or Temporal
• Working proficiency in Golang or Python
• Proven experience with SLA/SLO ownership and performance management

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GPU infrastructure, HPC, or AI/ML cloud environments
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible)
• Experience scaling operations teams during rapid growth
• Background in data center operations and hardware lifecycle
