Senior Manager, Embedded Systems Engineering

About the Company

Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor designed to provide critical power to hospitals, data centers, and remote sites.

Responsibilities

• Build, grow, and manage a team of embedded engineers, owning hiring, performance, and career development
• Partner with technical leads on embedded software architecture, testing frameworks, and safety requirements
• Manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships with electrical, controls, and hardware teams
• Own program execution across the embedded engineering lifecycle from architecture to field implementation

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of industry experience in embedded software with ownership of system-level architecture
• 3+ years of engineering management experience including hiring and performance management
• Deep proficiency in embedded C/C++
• Ability to work 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters degree or higher in a related engineering field
• Experience leading teams working with RTOS and bare metal applications
• Experience with Simulink Autocode C++ export and integration
• Experience managing large, multi-target embedded builds using CMake
• Proficiency in reading schematics and guiding hardware/software debug efforts
• Experience in safety-critical domains such as aerospace, defense, medical, or nuclear
