About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a team of software engineers in the development and implementation of embedded software.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions within set schedules and budgets.
- Collaborate with systems architects, hardware, FPGA, and driver teams to align development strategies and timelines.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and uncompromising quality.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
- Oversee the full product life cycle, from definition and development to maintenance and end-of-life.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of engineering leadership experience managing or leading real-time development teams.
- Extensive experience with embedded software development, including card/module bring-up, Linux/VxWorks, RTOS device drivers, HAL, and management software.
- Proficiency in C and C++.
- Proven track record of leading complex software products through the full product life cycle.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with TCP/IP, Layer 2, and Layer 3 networking.
- Experience managing work with third-party suppliers.
- Knowledge of optical technologies.
- Experience with RLS, WaveServer, or 6500 products.
