Senior Manager, Datacenter Software - Firmware Release

Responsibilities

• Lead the release of software and firmware for high-performance GPU-based datacenter servers, ensuring high-quality infrastructure and tooling.
• Define release scope for rack-scale products by collaborating with product management, technical architects, and program management.
• Influence architecture and design decisions for compute and switch trays to ensure quality across nightly, dev, and production drops.
• Partner with developers, SWQA, and product engineering to implement end-to-end CI/CD workflows and left-shift release quality.
• Own the ingestion and packaging of software and firmware binaries for deployment across multiple platforms and CSP environments.
• Drive innovation in release workflows, including self-service interfaces, automation, and AI-assisted validation and triage.
• Monitor and report release progress and quality metrics (KPIs) to all stakeholders.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in the software industry with a specialization in system software or firmware development.
• 5+ years of technical leadership experience managing multi-team organizations.
• Proven experience with datacenter firmware such as BMC, FPGA, CPLDs, or network switches.
• Strong understanding of computer system architecture, operating systems, and HW-SW interactions.
• Proficiency in Python and Linux for designing, prototyping, and debugging.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Artifactory) and web application frameworks.
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with in-band and out-of-band management of firmware and hardware components.
• Understanding of REST architecture, JSON over HTTPS, OAuth, and DMTF/PLDM/SPDM protocols.
• Experience developing self-service release infrastructure.
• Experience integrating AI/LLM tooling into engineering workflows for triage or validation.
• Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams across US and APAC regions.
