Senior Manager, Compliance & Legal Operations

Responsibilities

• Own the daily operation of the Studio Compliance App and drive Regional and Studio Manager accountability on compliance items
• Review and interpret state, county, and city health department regulations to support new studio openings
• Manage procurement, maintenance, and renewal of establishment and individual piercer licenses
• Serve as the primary point of contact for state and local departments of health and enforcement authorities
• Own contract lifecycle management, including intake, metadata quality, and template library maintenance
• Maintain the legal matter tracker and review outside counsel invoices and budgets
• Provide paralegal-level support for financings, NDAs, subpoenas, and litigation holds
• Manage entity maintenance for Studs, Inc. and Studs Leasing, LLC

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, legal operations, or as a senior paralegal
• Four-year college degree required
• Proven ability to own a compliance program across multiple jurisdictions
• Strong project management discipline for managing parallel workstreams
• Proficiency with AI tools and SaaS platforms like DocuSign, Jotform, and Google Workspace
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with field leadership and regulatory authorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in multi-unit personal care, beauty, wellness, or regulated-consumer retail
• Prior experience at a franchise system or a health department
• Hands-on experience with a contract lifecycle management system
• Experience supporting a small in-house legal team
• Familiarity with OSHA and state/local body art regulations
