About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the TEGNA Stream Center, including the leadership of supervisors and operations staff
- Ensure on-air integrity of multiple network programming feeds and provide immediate response to mitigate on-air issues
- Deploy staff in a strategic manner to support high-profile and live events
- Perform live on-air duties in relation to event/operator coverage when necessary
- Develop, evaluate, and implement technical and operational training initiatives
- Implement and evolve policies and procedures
- Provide timely, clear, and direct feedback to employees and administer staff performance evaluations
- Collaborate with individual station General Managers to address concerns or issues
Requirements
- BA/BS in a related field or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, specifically Excel
- Knowledge of television broadcast equipment, including video/audio routing, file servers, and multi-channel automation systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve broadcast issues immediately
- Strong organization, time management, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations
- Willingness to work in Charlotte, NC
- Availability to work flexible hours, including overnights, weekends, and holidays for a 24/7 operation
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in a master control or production control room television environment
- 5 years of managerial experience
- Proven passion for media, television, and technology
