About the role

Responsibilities

  • Drive business growth by writing and implementing strategic business plans and identifying target opportunities.
  • Lead the delivery of high-impact business pitches, suggesting go-to-market approaches and positioning the firm to win.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team of junior business development professionals.
  • Partner with practice leaders to oversee target list management, thought leadership opportunities, and client events.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, communications, technology, and recruiting on special projects.
  • Oversee experience management, marketing collateral creation, and the maintenance of attorney biographies and web content.
  • Provide business development coaching to lawyers at all levels through group and individual sessions.
  • Monitor market intelligence and the competitive landscape to act as a strategic resource for office and practice leaders.

Requirements

  • University degree.
  • 8+ years of professional services experience (legal industry experience preferred).
  • 2+ years of direct team management experience.
  • Proven experience in strategic business development planning and pitching.
  • Exceptional professional interpersonal skills and executive presence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong project management, time management, and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth understanding of litigation practices and areas of law.
  • Experience working within a high-pressure law firm environment with shifting priorities.
