Senior Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams of scientists, engineers, and technical staff.
• Oversee material selection, development, and qualification for medical devices to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage complex projects and allocate resources effectively to meet strategic milestones.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a matrixed global environment.
• Provide technical leadership in the design and execution of laboratory experiments and analytical testing.
• Contribute to long-term strategic planning for material innovation and organizational capability.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering (with a material focus), or a related chemistry science major.
• Minimum of 12 years of post-graduate experience in a chemical or material-related field.
• At least 3 years of functional management experience.
• Proven experience leading teams of 6–8 people.
• Expertise in analytical and mechanical testing techniques (e.g., HPLC, DMA, TGA, FTIR, DSC, SEM, etc.).
• Experience working and influencing within a strong matrix organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience within the medical device sector.
• Track record of success in a strongly matrixed organization.
• Advanced laboratory management and technical troubleshooting skills.
• History of professional publications, patents, or peer-reviewed industrial literature.
• Ph.D. from a top 20 ranked university.
