Senior Manager - Advanced Technology

Responsibilities

• Lead the Avangrid Power Artificial Intelligence program and develop the AI Technology Roadmap
• Architect and deliver scalable compute stacks for AI/ML training, inference, and streaming analytics
• Manage a high-performing team of platform engineers, ML engineers, and SREs, including direct and indirect reports
• Partner with Power Directors and VPs to define AI digital needs and ensure correct deployment across the value chain
• Oversee technology lifecycle management, including vendor management, infrastructure provisioning, and deployment methodologies
• Ensure high availability and operational stability of digital platforms through rigorous testing and observability
• Define patterns for workload placement across on-prem HPC, cloud GPU, and accelerated endpoints

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in technology and digital tools
• 10+ years of experience in advanced computing, HPC/GPU platforms, or large-scale data/AI systems
• 3–5 years of experience building and operating production ML/analytics platforms in mission-critical environments
• Hands-on fluency with GPU/HPC orchestration, workload schedulers, and Kubernetes
• Experience with Cloud AI platforms such as Azure or AWS
• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing multi-vendor ecosystems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience integrating compute platforms with forecasting, condition monitoring, or real-time OT/IT data (SCADA, PI)
• Background in Renewables or grid-scale operations
• Familiarity with the full model lifecycle, including feature engineering and drift management
• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
