About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end global operating expense close cycle under US GAAP, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Deliver monthly and quarterly financial variance analyses to explain commercial drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Act as the primary subject matter expert for operating expense accounting and technical principles.
- Drive a continuous improvement agenda by simplifying and automating close processes through technology and AI.
- Manage and develop a geographically dispersed team of accounting professionals, fostering a high-performing culture.
- Partner with procurement, finance operations, and commercial teams to integrate insights into accounting decisions.
Requirements
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in financial or operational accounting within a complex, multi-entity global business.
- Demonstrated experience managing the end-to-end financial close cycle, including operating expenses and accruals.
- Proven track record of successfully leading, coaching, and developing accounting teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Public accounting experience, ideally with a top 6 accounting firm.
- In-depth technical grounding in US GAAP principles and corporate financial reporting standards.
- Experience driving continuous process improvement, automation, or financial system transformations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial figures into commercial insights for senior stakeholders.
