About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design and development of molded inductor products for power conversion and advanced electronics.
  • Define magnetic, electrical, mechanical, and material solutions from initial concept through qualification and volume production.
  • Design, prototype, test, and validate magnetic components for computing, automotive, industrial, and energy applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into detailed technical specifications, including schematics and 3D CAD models.
  • Interface with suppliers, SQE, and manufacturing teams to ensure design for manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support qualification, certification (including AEC-Q), and compliance activities, as well as failure analysis and technical documentation.
  • Manage engineering changes and product life cycles in accordance with company procedures.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Material Science/Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in magnetic component or power passive design.
  • Hands-on experience with molded inductors or similar magnetic products.
  • Strong understanding of magnetic circuit theory, including saturation, hysteresis, core/copper losses, temperature effects, and EMI considerations.
  • Experience with magnetic powder materials and molded magnetics processes (winding, mixing, pressing, curing, etc.).
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as AEC-Q200 and reliability qualification methodologies.
  • Proficiency in prototyping, testing, and analyzing inductor application failure modes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
