Senior Machine Learning Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop robust software prototypes demonstrating applications of models in collaboration with ML researchers and ML Ops
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes to improve research and development velocity
• Participate in design discussions with software architects as projects mature from research to pre-production
• Write programs that interface with production software, such as Fusion
• Develop data pipelines to facilitate the machine learning lifecycle
• Containerize and deploy applications using Docker
• Advocate for and implement best practices to ensure effective code development across different stages of maturity
• Work across a diverse group of researchers, developers, product managers, and designers

Requirements

• Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
• Proficiency in Python and C++
• Experience with industry best practices for developing and maintaining complex code bases
• Strong documentation skills for handing off code and software architecture
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments and adapt to changing requirements
• Self-starter with the initiative to solve problems with minimal supervision
• Ability to break down large problems into small, manageable components

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in software engineering
• Expertise with ML/Deep Learning libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Pandas, SciKitLearn, or PySpark
• Experience with big data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, Hive) and orchestration frameworks (Databricks, SageMaker)
• Experience with cloud data processing, training, or deployment (AWS, GCP)
• Experience developing web applications and APIs
• Background in CAD/CAM software or the design and manufacturing industries
