Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Voice Assistant

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software and algorithms for Roku’s state-of-the-art entertainment assistant
• Design and develop software components for high-availability and high-performance cloud solutions
• Take end-to-end responsibility from developing a proof of concept to production
• Build large-scale production systems with a strong programming background
• Collaborate across teams to achieve organizational goals and evaluate technical solutions
• Take complete ownership of initiatives and make pragmatic technical decisions

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience (or 3+ years with an advanced degree) in ML/AI applied to NLU or related domains
• Experience with big data systems such as Spark, EMR, S3, and Airflow
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or C++
• Strong understanding of ML fundamentals including regression, classification, ranking, neural networks, and sequence models
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining production machine learning models
• Experience with LLM and generative AI techniques
• Experience building in-production NLU and/or ASR systems
• Strong CS fundamentals and algorithmic skills
