About the Company
Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor designed to provide critical power to hospitals, data centers, and remote sites.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own static, dynamic, and transient loads for reactor systems and support structures
- Perform structural dynamics analyses including modal, random vibration, shock, and fatigue assessments
- Implement explicit dynamics simulations to model nonlinear reactor response
- Define and analyze transportation and handling environments for road, rail, air, or sea transport
- Conduct finite element analyses (FEA) using tools such as ANSYS or Abaqus
- Collaborate with design engineers to influence hardware architecture and material selection
- Support test planning and correlation, including shaker tests and modal surveys
- Develop and maintain analysis documentation and reports for regulatory interfaces

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in loads, dynamics, or structural analysis
- Strong fundamentals in structural mechanics, dynamics, and vibration
- Experience with finite element modeling of metallic and composite structures
- Proficiency with industry-standard FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or Nastran)
- Ability to work 100% onsite in El Segundo, CA
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, launch, defense, or nuclear environments
