About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to trial attorneys through case management, including maintaining case files, timelines, and deadlines
- Prepare, proofread, and edit legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and sentencing memos
- Perform Bluebook cite-checking and prepare tables of contents and authorities
- Manage New York state and federal court filings (including SDNY) and follow all e-filing procedures
- Support discovery processes, including document production, interrogatories, and large-scale document review
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and PACER
- Provide hands-on trial support, including managing exhibits, witness coordination, and courtroom technology
- Mentor and train a junior paralegal to maintain high quality and consistency across the firm's work
Requirements
- Proven paralegal experience at a large law firm
- Hands-on litigation and trial experience, including trial preparation and execution
- Extensive experience with New York state and federal court filing procedures
- Strong Bluebook and cite-checking skills with high attention to detail
- Proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat
- Bachelor's degree
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to work on-site in Manhattan and handle significant overtime during trial periods
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 to 7 years of professional paralegal experience
- Experience in criminal defense or white-collar criminal defense
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program
- Familiarity with California court formatting and filing
- Experience with eDiscovery tools such as Relativity, CaseMap, or West Case Notebook

- Base salary ranging from $90,000 to $120,000 per year
- Paid overtime (non-exempt role)
