Senior Litigation Docket Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide support to litigation attorneys, including research, document retrieval, and service of process
• Perform electronic court filings for state and federal district and appellate courts
• Review and enter calendar deadlines into centralized docketing software (e.g., CourtAlert)
• Screen incoming and outgoing court documents to ensure compliance with court rules and procedures
• Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, and court personnel regarding procedural requirements and filing revisions
• Track critical dates and communicate updates to relevant legal staff
• Coordinate the delivery of courtesy copies to the court as necessary
• Assist with administrative projects and general back-up support as needed

Requirements

• Strong understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures
• Experience with electronic filing systems (e.g., e-File Texas, NexGen, PACER)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Texas state and federal court rules and procedures
• Experience using legal research tools such as WestLaw, Practical Law, or Lexis
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in litigation docketing or as a paralegal
• Experience working within a large law firm
• Familiarity with rules-based calendaring software such as CourtAlert, CompuLaw, or MA3000
• Four-year college degree or completion of a paralegal certificate program
• NALS, NALA, or TBLS paralegal certification
