Senior Litigation Docket Clerk

Responsibilities

• Provide support to litigation attorneys by calculating deadlines and retrieving court documents
• Track critical dates and communicate information to attorneys, paralegals, and staff
• Review court filings and enter calendar deadlines into centralized docketing software (CourtAlert)
• Search cases using specialized software and internet resources
• Assist with the review of court filings to ensure compliance with court rules and procedures
• Provide backup assistance for electronic court filings in state, federal district, and appellate courts
• Support administrative projects and provide general backup support as needed

Requirements

• Strong understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures
• Deep knowledge of court rules and procedures in California state and federal courts
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Strong research ability and verbal/written communication skills
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends based on department needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of prior experience in litigation docketing
• Experience working in a large law firm
• Familiarity with CourtAlert or other rules-based calendaring software (e.g., CompuLaw, MA3000)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with electronic filing systems such as NYSCEF, NexGen, or PACER
