Senior Linux Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deploy, maintain, and ensure the stability of the Linux server estate across 10 datacentres in Europe and the US
• Support bare-metal deployments and Kubernetes clusters running on-prem
• Proactively monitor infrastructure for faults and performance degradation
• Design and test new hardware, kernels, and operating systems
• Manage centralized storage arrays and maintain databases
• Use open-source tooling to gather platform data and perform deep-dive problem solving

Requirements

• Proven track record designing and supporting distributed Linux environments (RHEL and Debian)
• Experience with automation and simplification, ideally using Python and Ansible
• Deep understanding of filesystems, networking, and kernel internals
• Exposure to containerization and virtualization techniques
• Pragmatic approach to communicating and coordinating change across diverse teams
• Evidence-backed decision-making approach

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience running and supporting large distributed data storage platforms
• Knowledge of NFS, S3, iSCSI, or TCP over NVMe
