About the role
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Linux servers using Red Hat and Ubuntu.
- Support physical, virtual, and AWS-based Linux environments used for semiconductor design.
- Perform system monitoring, patching, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Manage storage, backups, and file systems using NetApp and Rubrik.
- Implement security best practices, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
- Develop Bash scripts and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
- Administer HPC clusters, job scheduling platforms, and core infrastructure services like DNS and LDAP.
- Monitor infrastructure health and perform root cause analysis for system outages.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5+ years of Linux system administration experience.
- Hands-on experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu.
- Experience supporting virtualized environments such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of NetApp storage, NFS, and backup/recovery solutions like Rubrik.
- Proficiency in Bash scripting and Linux command-line administration.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SSH, NTP).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, or Grafana.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in semiconductor, EDA, or high-performance computing (HPC) environments.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud platforms.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet.
- Knowledge of container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Linux certifications such as RHCSA or RHCE.
