Senior Legal Counsel, Procurement

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary legal partner for global third-party spend and non-customer commercial relationships.
• Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of vendor and operational agreements, including SaaS, cloud, professional services, and real estate.
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of vendor, services, and sponsorship contracts from structuring to execution.
• Maintain and improve legal templates, playbooks, and clause libraries to enable scalable contracting.
• Advise stakeholders on core contract risks including liability, indemnity, IP ownership, and data privacy.
• Lead or support the negotiation of advertising, marketing, and brand sponsorship agreements.
• Partner with Finance and Procurement to align contracting with "procure-to-pay" (P2P) processes and insurance requirements.
• Manage external counsel for specialist or high-risk procurement and cross-border matters.
• Drive process improvements through the use of LegalTech and AI-enabled workflows.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with a law degree and the right to practice in a common-law jurisdiction.
• 8+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a top-tier law firm or in-house legal team.
• Extensive experience in commercial contracting and procurement, specifically with vendor and services contracts.
• Proven ability to advise on complex risk topics such as IP, indemnity, and information security.
• Strong English drafting and negotiation skills.
• Ability to provide pragmatic, business-oriented advice under time pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in high-growth technology, fintech, or financial services organizations.
• Expertise in advertising, marketing, or sports-partnership agreements.
• Experience advising on commercial insurance clauses and risk transfer.
• Proficiency with LegalTech, CLM tools (e.g., Ironclad), and AI-enabled legal workflows.
