About the role
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and prepare legal documents, contracts, corporate governance materials, and legal correspondence
- Support legal teams during due diligence processes by gathering and organizing necessary data
- Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements for corporate clients
- Conduct legal research and provide summary reports on various legal topics, cases, and legislation
- Maintain and organize legal files, minute books, and electronic documentation
- Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, and internal departments to ensure smooth legal processes
- Collaborate with internal teams, including accountants and consultants, to support cross-functional services
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in a corporate or tax law setting
- Diploma or certification from a recognized law program
- Proficiency in corporate law procedures, legal terminology, and corporate compliance
- Familiarity with Canadian business law, regulations, and corporate governance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel
- Experience with corporate filing systems and minute book management
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines under pressure
