About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead Aboriginal health strategy and embed cultural capability across the Western Australian Centre for Rural Health (WACRH)
- Drive innovative teaching and training programs focused on Aboriginal health and engagement
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with Aboriginal communities and Community Controlled Organisations
- Lead and contribute to high-quality research using qualitative methodologies such as yarning circles and community-based research
- Support and mentor Aboriginal staff and contribute to local and national workforce development
- Represent WACRH on key committees and contribute to university-wide initiatives
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- Demonstrated research track record, including peer-reviewed publications
- Proven experience working respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal communities through engagement and co-design
- Leadership experience in teaching and developing culturally informed education programs
- Strong qualitative research capability (e.g., interviews, focus groups, yarning circles)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across community, government, and academic sectors
- National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check
- Valid "C" class driver's licence
