Senior Leathergoods Designer

Responsibilities

• Lead creative concepts and collection development by conducting iconographic research and building moodboards.
• Translate design concepts into sketches, technical drawings, Photoshop simulations, and handcrafted mock-ups.
• Create physical prototypes to test proportions, volumes, and detailing.
• Draft technical specification sheets and correction sheets for manufacturing partners in France, Spain, and English-speaking countries.
• Coordinate project progress closely with the Collection and Sourcing teams.
• Participate in bi-monthly design meetings with the CEO to present project updates and contribute to the brand's creative identity.

Requirements

• 5 to 10 years of experience in handbag design.
• Deep expertise in leather goods construction techniques, leather materials, and metal component engineering.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
• Strong skills in hand drawing and building physical mock-ups using salpa or microfiber.
• High level of autonomy, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Aesthetic sensitivity aligned with Polène’s organic and timeless design language.
