Senior Lead Software Engineer - Python Backend Developer

Responsibilities

• Write high-quality backend Python code following SOLID, YAGNI, and KISS principles
• Participate in requirements meetings with users to propose technical solutions
• Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed
• Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge and automation capabilities to improve value at scale
• Complete full lifecycle development projects, including post-production maintenance and enhancements
• Support other development teams by researching system issues and resolving problems

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience
• Strong background in object-oriented programming and Test Driven Development (TDD) using Python
• Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools
• Experience building and debugging applications on distributed computing architecture
• Understanding of event-based architecture
• Knowledge of AWS
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of GraphQL
• Experience or interest in Investment Banking and Markets
