Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage workflows and execution of design and engineering support staff
• Coordinate with internal and external parties and manage complex tasks
• Work with Project Managers on proposal development, man-hour planning, and scheduling
• Identify and resolve non-compliant existing conditions during site walks
• Develop advanced internal mechanical design and engineering training
• Create narratives, reports, construction drawing packages, and specifications
• Provide support for construction activities including RFI responses and submittal reviews
• Conduct technical and leadership interviews and quality checking of documents
• Provide mentorship to less experienced Mechanical Engineers and Designers
• Lead project system design programming and master planning
• Provide technical leadership to other offices and business development functions

Requirements

• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
• Minimum of 15 years of experience for Senior Lead position
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in good standing
• Expert experience in engineering calculations and HVAC/mechanical utility/piping systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Advanced experience with mechanical, plumbing, fire, and building codes
• Advanced experience with industry standards such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISPE, FDA, ISO, NFPA, and OSHA
• Advanced experience conducting field surveys and field reporting

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Revit
• Experience in Life Sciences (Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Laboratory) or Food & Beverage industries
• Advanced knowledge of cGMPs
• LEED, WELL, or other sustainable design accreditation
• Experience with advanced technology industry projects like R&D labs
• Proficiency in cross-discipline project team coordination and vendor management
• Advanced experience troubleshooting mechanical systems
