Senior/Lead iOS Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own major parts of the iOS codebase and contribute to architectural decisions
• Build and optimize video-heavy features including recording, clipping, playback, and social feeds
• Tackle performance challenges such as reducing stutter and improving frame rates
• Collaborate cross-functionally with design, backend, and product teams to ship high-quality features quickly
• Advocate for user experience, performance, and accessibility
• Maintain a high bar for code quality and engineering culture
• Work on-site at our NYC office 5 days a week

Requirements

• 5+ years of recent experience shipping iOS applications
• Proficiency in Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI
• Experience with Swift Concurrency and Combine
• Hands-on experience with AVFoundation or similar video/audio mobile workflows
• Experience working on complex real-time apps, media-heavy workflows, or social applications
• Strong experience using REST APIs and collaborating with backend teams
• An ownership mentality with a track record of driving projects end-to-end
• Excellent communication skills for both synchronous and asynchronous collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with video on mobile at a consumer-facing company
• Knowledge of Android development
• Experience with other Apple technologies such as Objective-C, iPadOS, or macOS
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Xcode Cloud)
• History as a Medal user
