About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee vendor performance to ensure correct plan administration, regulatory compliance, and consistency across multiple vendors
  • Contribute to benefit program strategy, including plan design and benchmarking to enhance competitive offerings
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert to leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Monitor the effectiveness of plan administration and customer service to ensure high-quality delivery
  • Ensure all regulatory, audit, and compliance processes for the Benefits Team meet national and enterprise standards
  • Manage the implementation of plan design changes, including vendor management and senior management presentations
  • Provide member support by resolving complex employee inquiries, escalations, and appeals
  • Mentor and coach junior benefits staff

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Benefits experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, or education
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with Workday or a similar HRIS
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and jurisdictional benefit laws and requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing health plan vendors at a large, fully insured employer
  • Experience with employee benefit communications and reviewing Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs)
  • Proven ability to present complex information to senior leadership and diverse stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a structured environment
