About the role
Responsibilities
- Oversee vendor performance to ensure correct plan administration, regulatory compliance, and consistency across multiple vendors
- Contribute to benefit program strategy, including plan design and benchmarking to enhance competitive offerings
- Serve as a strategic advisor and subject matter expert to leadership and cross-functional teams
- Monitor the effectiveness of plan administration and customer service to ensure high-quality delivery
- Ensure all regulatory, audit, and compliance processes for the Benefits Team meet national and enterprise standards
- Manage the implementation of plan design changes, including vendor management and senior management presentations
- Provide member support by resolving complex employee inquiries, escalations, and appeals
- Mentor and coach junior benefits staff
Requirements
- 7+ years of Benefits experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, or education
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with Workday or a similar HRIS
- Knowledge of federal, state, and jurisdictional benefit laws and requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing health plan vendors at a large, fully insured employer
- Experience with employee benefit communications and reviewing Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs)
- Proven ability to present complex information to senior leadership and diverse stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a structured environment
