Senior-Lead HANA Database Authorization Security SME

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a production-grade HANA landscape, ensuring security, stability, and performance.
• Act as the definitive escalation authority for all HANA DB security issues.
• Provide support and enablement for the architecture, functionality, and compliance of SAP HANA Cloud solutions.
• Define enterprise and project-level solutions in collaboration with architects and IT organizations.
• Implement SAP HANA Cloud on BTP and perform strategic monitoring.
• Manage and drive the quality of the SAP HANA Cloud set-up.
• Develop and follow best practices and architectural principles defined by the SAP BTP Team.
• Share technical knowledge to improve best practices and enable colleagues.

Requirements

• 6-10+ years of hands-on, production-grade HANA DB administration experience.
• Deep expertise in HANA security operations, including user/role/privilege management, audit policies, and SAML/JWT/X.509 authentication.
• Advanced HANA SQL skills for provisioning scripts, privilege reviews, and audit log interrogation.
• Proven experience managing SAP BTP / Cloud Foundry HANA Cloud operational environments.
• Expertise in SAP HANA Cloud Security, including managing role collections and database roles.
• Proficiency in configuring spaces, HDI container access, and cloud application authorizations.
• Experience with SAP IAS & IPS integration.
• Ability to handle schema-level access, package authorization, and analytic privileges (row-level security).
• Strong scripting experience.
• Ability to manage independent SAP OSS escalations and present evidence directly to auditors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CyberArk PAM or SAP GRC Access Control.
• Relevant HANA certifications.
• Exposure to SAP Datasphere or SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
