Senior Lead Engineer, Retail Inventory

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and development of RFID-driven, intelligent retail inventory systems using AI and cloud-native microservices on GCP
• Design and implement end-to-end microservices and mobile/web applications to enhance store operational efficiency
• Embed agentic AI capabilities and LLM-based tooling into inventory workflows to enable autonomous decision-making and predictive insights
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, setting guidelines for code reviews, test automation, and observability
• Collaborate with Product and IT leadership to identify opportunities for automation and agentic workflows
• Manage multiple projects independently within Agile frameworks, ensuring high-quality, scalable solutions

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years of full-stack development and 3+ years in a technical leadership role
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js
• Extensive experience with GCP, microservices, Kubernetes, and Docker
• Strong knowledge of AI/ML integrations, LLM APIs (such as Vertex AI or OpenAI), or agentic frameworks
• Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, MQTT) and RDBMS/NoSQL databases
• Proven track record in designing resilient, high-performing cloud-native applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in the retail or e-commerce domain
• Hands-on exposure to RFID technology
• Experience with integration platforms like Mulesoft, SAP, or Boomi
• Familiarity with observability tools such as New Relic
