About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of applications and supporting documentation across various visa subclasses
  • Draft, review, and finalise complex legal submissions, including health and character waivers
  • Conduct eligibility assessments and provide technical guidance on high-risk immigration matters
  • Supervise, review, and provide feedback on legal drafting produced by junior team members
  • Monitor legal deadlines to ensure matters progress in line with KPIs and service level agreements
  • Support the training, onboarding, and capability development of junior legal staff
  • Participate in internal knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Admitted legal practitioner in Australia
  • Minimum of 3 years post-admission experience in immigration or administrative law
  • Expertise in Australian immigration law, specifically employer-sponsored pathways
  • Strong experience in corporate immigration, particularly subclasses 482, 186, and 494
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising or mentoring lawyers and legal staff
  • High-level legal drafting and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume professional services environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Migration Manager or similar case management software
