About the role

Responsibilities

  • Secure land access and negotiate land acquisition through statutory powers and direct negotiation
  • Lead land referencing projects and conduct quality assurance reviews of technical documentation
  • Manage stakeholder and landowner relationships, providing expert consultation on proposed schemes
  • Provide senior-level advice to clients and project boards regarding land acquisition risks and opportunities
  • Oversee compliance with statutory processes, regulatory obligations, and data security standards
  • Manage and develop junior team members, providing technical training and career support
  • Coordinate land surveys and ensure adherence to health and safety procedures during site work
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering, planning, and environmental teams to integrate land requirements

Requirements

  • Degree in Geography, Land/Estate Management, Agriculture, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience delivering land referencing, land access, and landowner engagement for major infrastructure projects
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing the legal processes for land acquisition (e.g., wayleaves, easements, or servitudes)
  • Demonstrated ability to reduce land risk and advise clients throughout the project lifecycle
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders and landowners
  • Ability to travel to various project sites across the UK and Ireland

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within the energy, highways, rail, water, or aviation sectors
  • Knowledge of land access permissions, s172 licenses, and site safety protocols
  • Chartership or membership of a relevant professional body
