About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis of geochemical samples and Fire Assay using AAS instrumentation
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain ICP-AES and AAS instrumentation
- Troubleshoot instrument and quality-related issues
- Prepare, calibrate, and test standards and instrument QC solutions
- Review QC raw data and analytical results to ensure accuracy
- Ensure client turnaround times are consistently met in a high-volume environment
- Safely handle hazardous chemicals and solvents
Requirements
- Certificate IV, Diploma in Laboratory Techniques, or a Bachelor of Science degree
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a digestion and/or instrumentation laboratory environment
- Experience with ICP-OES, AAS, and/or ICP-MS instrumentation
- Willingness to work rotating 8-hour shifts (Day and Afternoon rosters)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment involving manual handling and repetitive tasks
