Senior Laboratory Assistant

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of geochemical samples and Fire Assay using AAS instrumentation
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain ICP-AES and AAS instrumentation
• Troubleshoot instrument and quality-related issues
• Prepare, calibrate, and test standards and instrument QC solutions
• Review QC raw data and analytical results to ensure accuracy
• Ensure client turnaround times are consistently met in a high-volume environment
• Safely handle hazardous chemicals and solvents

Requirements

• Certificate IV, Diploma in Laboratory Techniques, or a Bachelor of Science degree
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a digestion and/or instrumentation laboratory environment
• Experience with ICP-OES, AAS, and/or ICP-MS instrumentation
• Willingness to work rotating 8-hour shifts (Day and Afternoon rosters)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment involving manual handling and repetitive tasks
