Senior Laboratory Analyst

Responsibilities

• Manage personnel development, in-service training, and workload distribution
• Perform routine and quality control tests on samples according to standard methods
• Operate laboratory instruments and maintain accurate log-books and worksheets
• Monitor technical accuracy of results and implement remedial actions
• Manage consumable stock levels and schedule work to meet customer requirements
• Develop, validate, and modify new analytical methods and procedures
• Maintain section records and investigate nonconforming issues or improvement requests
• Control instrument inventory, calibration, and maintenance programs
• Liaise with customers regarding technical queries, turnaround times, and sampling procedures

Requirements

• Appropriate Tertiary Qualification
• At least 3 years of relevant laboratory experience
• Proficiency in English and Afrikaans (Read, Speak, Write)
• Experience ensuring compliance with ISO17025 and SANAS standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to work in a high-throughput environment with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail and interpersonal skills
