Senior Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control testing on components and products to support plant operations and technical service requests
• Coordinate test priorities with Operation Planning and Manufacturing teams
• Manage and enter test data into LIMS and SAP, ensuring all data is verified and accurate
• Generate QC, SMC, and SPC charts to monitor quality trends and identify root causes for variations
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate analytical equipment to ensure precise results
• Provide technical solutions for off-test plant blends during after-office hours or weekends
• Train new laboratory technicians on test methods, calibration procedures, and non-routine testing
• Manage chemical inventory and MSDS databases in compliance with safety requirements
• Collaborate with Chemists and Process Engineers to conduct quality incident investigations and propose improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from a recognized university
• 3+ years of analytical testing experience within an Oil, Petroleum, Petrochemical, or Lubricant Additives manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry and laboratory instrumentation including ICP, FTIR, CHN Analyzers, Auto-titrators, and Viscometers
• Subject Matter Expertise in petroleum testing methods, specifically ASTM, IP, and APHA standards
• Effective written and verbal English communication skills
• Ability to work in a cross-functional environment and adapt to shift work
