Senior KYC and Onboarding Specialist

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full onboarding process for new merchants, ensuring accuracy and regulatory adherence
• Conduct in-depth KYC reviews and handle complex or high-value onboarding cases
• Lead enhanced due diligence (EDD) for high-risk customers and investigate sources of funds
• Perform detailed risk assessments and assign risk ratings for merchants
• Stay abreast of evolving regulations and contribute to the refinement of KYC policies
• Monitor and investigate unusual or suspicious customer activity
• Provide coaching and guidance to junior KYC & Onboarding Specialists
• Prepare analytical reports on KYC findings for Compliance leadership
• Communicate with customers and merchants on complex or sensitive KYC matters
• Leverage KYC tools and databases for efficient verification and monitoring

Requirements

• Qualification in law, finance, business, or a related field
• Minimum 4 years of experience in KYC/AML compliance within fintech, banking, or financial services
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for card acquiring and payment processing
• Strong understanding of KYC/AML regulations and industry best practices
• Experience with ISO Card, EFT, or RTP
• Proficiency in using KYC software and databases
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and communication skills
• Ability to coach and guide junior team members
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
