Senior Java Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Use Agile engineering practices to develop creative and efficient solutions that enhance customer and employee experiences
• Work with cross-functional teams to craft clear user stories, design tests for prototypes, and continuously deliver product enhancements
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Designers to identify and socialize product and delivery risks
• Drive and role-model best practice engineering processes and Agile behavior within the team
• Liaise with internal and external teams to negotiate timelines, deliverables, and dependencies
• Own and drive best practices in automation, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD)

Requirements

• At least 8 years of software development experience working in Agile teams
• Extensive experience with Java 7/8, Java EE, and the Spring framework (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Messaging, JPA, ORM)
• Expertise in developing Cloud Native Microservices and Event Driven design
• Strong knowledge of ElasticSearch, Redis, MongoDB, and Apache Kafka
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI-CD tools like Jenkins
• Solid experience with SQL and database technologies such as Oracle, MsSql, or MySQL
• Experience with unit testing frameworks, specifically jUnit
• Strong understanding of Git (branching, merging, tagging, and Pull Requests)
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, OAuth, and distributed application design
