Senior IT Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Lead and support IT security risk management activities across the Volvo Group to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks.
• Act as a trusted advisor to business, technology, and product stakeholders, translating complex security topics into clear business language.
• Support the operationalization of IT security governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
• Contribute to audit, compliance, and control assessment activities while preparing risk reporting and leadership updates.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and support to junior security colleagues to build a high-performing security risk capability.
• Identify recurring risk themes, control gaps, and opportunities for continuous process improvement.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in IT security, cybersecurity risk management, IT governance, audit, or compliance.
• Proven expertise in leading risk assessments and translating findings into practical, business-aligned actions.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with experience working alongside senior leadership and technology teams.
• Proficiency in security frameworks, policies, standards, and compliance expectations.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks based on risk and business impact.

Preferred Qualifications

• Formal education in IT, cybersecurity, information systems, risk management, or audit.
• Relevant professional certifications in cybersecurity or risk management.
• Previous experience in people management or coaching junior professionals.
