Senior IT Developer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of end-to-end technical solutions for the Payments Data Services team
• Perform hands-on application design and development using Java and Spring Boot
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, standards compliance, reusability, and ease of maintenance
• Mentor and coach team members on software development best practices and Agile methodologies
• Participate in all Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Partner with Product Owners, BSAs, and QE to ensure user stories are delivery-ready and meet the Definition of Done
• Propose solution options and generate stakeholder support for technical initiatives
• Ensure all new modules are designed with reusability and scalability in mind

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of experience in Java EE development and design
• 3-5+ years of experience with Spring frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Spring Security)
• 3-5+ years of experience building and documenting RESTful APIs
• 3-5+ years of experience with document-oriented databases, ideally MongoDB
• 2+ years of experience working with Kafka
• Hands-on experience with development tools including Maven, Jenkins, Gradle, and Git

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Agile/Waterfall and SDLC/PMLC processes
• Knowledge of SSO, MFA, PingFed, OIDC, OAuth, and API gateways
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Familiarity with gRPC, DataBricks, or Spark
• Proficiency in Python, specifically PySpark and Pandas
